Job Summary:
We are in need of an Operations Specialist 1 to provide operational support for a new project and help ensure required activities and deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with laboratory policies. The position will support procurement, resource scheduling, records management, budget and cost tracking, and coordination among project personnel and supporting organizations. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with procedure revisions, process improvements, issues tracking, and corrective actions.
Dedicated operational support will help maintain consistent documentation, timely follow-through, and clear communication while allowing technical staff and management to focus on their primary project responsibilities. The Operations Specialist 1 classification is appropriate because the work involves supporting established processes under the direction of a supervisor, team lead, or manager, applying entry-level operational knowledge, and assisting with moderately complex problems. This position will support LANL PIT INFRA’s project objectives while maintaining safety, security, quality, and accountability.
For an Operations Support Specialist 1 supporting a project in PIT INFRA at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), the ideal candidate would need a combination of operational, administrative, project coordination, and business support skills rather than deep technical engineering expertise.
