About the role

As a Business Development / Lead Generation Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving growth for Cognizant's healthcare solutions business by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective clients within the healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) market. You will leverage research, outbound prospecting, and relationship-building skills to generate high-quality sales opportunities and schedule qualified meetings for the sales team.

This role is designed as a career-building opportunity for professionals interested in advancing into sales and business development positions while gaining exposure to healthcare operations, RCM solutions, and enterprise sales methodologies.

In this role, you will:

Independently source and generate new healthcare RCM leads through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and market research.

Engage healthcare decision-makers and influencers to identify business needs and qualify potential sales opportunities.

Schedule qualified discovery calls, demonstrations, and meetings for sales representatives.

Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting activities while effectively handling objections and maintaining a professional customer experience.

Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, lead status, call outcomes, and next steps within CRM platforms.

Manage and prioritize a personal pipeline to consistently meet activity, quality, and appointment-setting goals.

Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to support targeted campaigns, account-based strategies, and lead generation initiatives.

Develop expertise in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management workflows and effectively communicate the value of Cognizant and TriZetto Provider Solutions offerings.

What you need to have to be considered

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

2+ years of experience in appointment setting, lead generation, outbound prospecting, or cold calling.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage prospects professionally across multiple channels.

Experience conducting outbound phone outreach and managing prospect conversations.

Ability to identify key decision-makers and execute targeted prospecting strategies.

Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar customer relationship management tools.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

These will help you stand out

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Experience supporting healthcare organizations or working within the healthcare industry.

Knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), medical billing, claims management, or healthcare financial operations.

Experience using predictive dialers, sales engagement platforms, and prospecting technologies.

Proven success meeting or exceeding activity, lead generation, or appointment-setting goals.

Experience partnering with sales and marketing teams to support pipeline growth initiatives.

Strong interest in pursuing a career in healthcare sales, business development, or account management.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until October 25, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $63,000-$71,000 depending on experience and other

qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and

subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
