Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Application Management for the OneIT Student Affairs Support Team oversees and assists with the support, maintenance, installation, and implementation of a variety of software applications for the Division of Student Affairs as well as specialized hardware specific to divisional needs. Additionally, this position coordinates, integrates, and validates data flowing between the various systems supported and other departmental, divisional, university, or third-party systems. This position also assists clients with the research and evaluation of potential new software systems as well as specialized hardware, works closely with and provides training to staff, assigns tasks and organizes work for direct reports, and manages projects assigned to their team.

Manage the technical team responsible for supporting, maintaining, implementing, and administering the enterprise software systems for the Division of Student Affairs.

Serve as a technical resource and liaison to both technical and non-technical staff, making technical recommendations that align with OneIT and university goals.

Coordinate with clients, vendors, team members, and other IT partners to ensure successful implementation of new systems or changes/upgrades to existing systems.

Research university or OneIT initiatives to determine how they impact supported applications or infrastructure. Plan the implementation of these initiatives and incorporate them into supported applications or infrastructure as needed.

Oversee and assist with the deployment, testing, and implementation of routine and non-routine software installations and updates.

Resolve customer issues through our ticketing system in a timely and professional manner.

Develop step-by-step documentation for processes and procedures associated with the position.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
-
Experience supporting staff and students in a higher education setting.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Experience supervising staff or serving as a team or project lead with delegation authority.

Experience with StarRez, WebTMA, Point and Click, or other residential management systems, facilities management systems, or electronic health records systems is a plus.

Working technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS and Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience managing projects to transition data and users from obsolete or outdated software systems to new solutions.

Ability to collaborate with other technical and non-technical teams to complete assigned projects and achieve organizational goals.

Strong business and systems analysis skills needed to understand the business processes of the supported areas.

Willingness to learn emerging technologies and guide others in the appropriate use of these technologies.
