Full job description
Description We are looking for a Corporate Tax Accountant to support a dynamic tax function in Torrance, California. This role is ideal for an individual who can manage compliance activities, contribute to financial reporting, and stay current on changing tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with finance, accounting, and external advisors to help maintain accurate reporting and strong regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:

Oversee the review and coordination of federal, state, and local income tax filings for multiple retail business entities, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

Prepare and support monthly and quarterly tax provision activities, including account analysis, reconciliations, and related financial reporting documentation.

Track legislative and regulatory tax developments across jurisdictions, evaluate their business impact, and recommend practical compliance actions.

Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during examinations and audits by assembling schedules, records, and responses to information requests.

Manage sales and use tax obligations, including registrations, return preparation oversight, and reporting across various state and local jurisdictions.

Contribute to tax planning efforts by analyzing opportunities to improve the company’s tax position while maintaining appropriate controls and compliance standards.

Maintain organized workpapers, tax records, and supporting documentation needed for filings, audits, and financial statement reporting.

Partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams to gather data required for accurate tax calculations, reporting, and compliance activities. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, with hands-on responsibility for compliance and reporting activities.

Strong knowledge of corporate income tax principles, including annual income tax provision preparation and related account support.

Experience handling multi-state tax matters, including state income tax returns and jurisdictional compliance requirements.

Familiarity with sales and use tax processes across multiple jurisdictions.

Understanding of property tax compliance and property tax return preparation.

Ability to interpret tax regulations, research technical issues, and apply findings to business operations.

Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with close attention to accuracy and deadlines.
