Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Healthcare Buildings Practice. This leadership role is responsible for managing a portfolio of healthcare projects and serving as a trusted advisor to clients, project teams, and practice leadership. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight across multiple projects, ensuring delivery excellence while achieving client satisfaction, financial performance, quality objectives, and risk management goals.
As a senior leader within the practice, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pursuit and planning through design, construction, and closeout. You will play a key role in portfolio planning, resource management, client development, and mentoring project management staff while partnering closely with Principals-in-Charge and Operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary portfolio manager for a diverse portfolio of healthcare projects, providing oversight of project performance, client relationships, and delivery outcomes.

Lead multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver projects that meet client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, quality, and design excellence.

Maintain executive-level relationships with healthcare clients and act as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.

Monitor portfolio financial performance, including revenue forecasting, project profitability, work-in-progress, invoicing, collections, and resource utilization.

Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and risk management strategies across multiple projects simultaneously.

Partner with Principals-in-Charge and Practice Leaders to align project delivery with business objectives and client account strategies.

Support project pursuits, fee proposals, contract negotiations, and project planning activities to position projects for successful execution.

Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, staffing challenges, scope changes, and contractual issues that may impact performance.

Lead client presentations, executive meetings, and project reviews while maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders.

Collaborate with Operations and Discipline Leaders to balance workload, allocate resources, and optimize project team performance.

Champion Stantec's Project Management Framework and quality management processes across the portfolio.

Mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering professional development and succession planning within the practice.

Oversee project reporting and ensure timely communication of project status, risks, financial performance, and key decisions to leadership.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
-
Demonstrated ability to manage complex portfolios consisting of multiple concurrent healthcare projects and project teams.

Strong client management and relationship-building skills with experience serving major healthcare systems and institutional clients.

Proven track record of delivering projects that achieve financial, schedule, and quality objectives.
-
Strong understanding of healthcare project delivery, including planning, design, construction administration, and regulatory requirements.
-
Experience overseeing project managers and mentoring emerging project management professionals.
-
Skilled in portfolio planning, resource management, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
-
Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
-
Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, healthcare regulations, building systems, and industry standards.

Experience with California healthcare projects and HCAI requirements preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and client service excellence.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management systems, and collaboration platforms; experience with Newforma, Revit, and related design technologies is preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
California architectural license preferred; professional licensure strongly desired.
Minimum 15 years of experience in healthcare project delivery and project management.
Experience managing acute care hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, medical office buildings, behavioral health facilities, or other regulated healthcare environments.
LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, PMP, DBIA, or similar professional credentials are a plus.

Pay Range:
-
Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, CT, NJ, VA Areas-$113,400.00 - $170,200.00 Annually

Locations in NYC & Various CA, CT, NJ Areas-$129,900.00 - $194,900.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
