Senior Software Engineer (AI Focus)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Forward Deployed (AI Applications) for a top financial services and analytics client. This engineer will embed directly with business teams to understand how they operate and rapidly design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications that solve real production problems. The role combines hands-on full-stack engineering with LLM applications and agentic workflows, using tools such as Claude Code and Codex to accelerate development. The ideal candidate is a seasoned software engineer who thrives in highly collaborative environments and can move seamlessly between coding, requirements gathering, daily demos, and conversations with business leaders.

Skills and Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science from a top-100 U.S. program, per CSRankings 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications Production experience with Java/Spring Boot OR .NET/C# Production experience with TypeScript and Angular OR NestJS Strong REST API design and development experience Cloud-native application development, including containers, CI/CD, and observability Daily production-software experience using Claude Code, Codex, or comparable coding harnesses Experience leading requirements sessions and product demos directly with business stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical business leaders Agile experience, particularly rapid build → demo → feedback cycles Experience developing AI/LLM-powered production applications Experience engineering context/data for LLM reasoning and report generation Experience building agentic or multi-step AI workflows Forward-deployed engineering or highly business-facing application development experience
