Full job description

fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. We build the infrastructure, tools, and model access that teams need to move from idea to production, and do it at scale without compromise. For developers and enterprises, fal is the foundation that makes generative media not just possible, but practical: a unified platform where high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability come together to unlock new categories of AI-native products. As generative media reshapes industries across a market projected to grow by hundreds of billions over the next decade, fal is becoming the ecosystem that ambitious teams build on.

About this role: You'll own the economics and the negotiation of fal's largest compute deals. Every major capacity agreement, often $100M or more with neoclouds and OEMs, runs through your diligence, your model and your negotiation. You'll judge whether a deal is worth doing, structure it so it works for fal, and then lead the negotiation to close. Alongside our sourcing team, you'll also find and build the next deals in the pipeline.

What you’ll do

  • Financial and commercial diligence. Lead diligence on every major compute deal: build the model, stress-test the assumptions, and assess the counterparty's ability to deliver.

  • Unit economics. Own the economics behind fal's compute commitments: cost per GPU-hour, utilization assumptions, commitment structure, and the impact on margin and cash.

  • Negotiation. Lead negotiations on $100M+ capacity agreements with neoclouds and OEMs, covering price, term, commitments, deposits and payment timing, and SLAs and remedies. Work with legal through to signature.

  • Deal sourcing and pipeline. Source and manage new deals alongside our sourcing team, and keep a live view of what's in the pipeline and what it would cost.

  • Market pricing. Track rates by GPU generation, region and contract term, so every deal is judged against the market.

  • Decision support. Bring clear recommendations to leadership and partner with Finance and our fleet operations team on what to commit to and when.

Qualifications/Nice-to-haves

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering or a related quantitative field.

  • 5+ years of experience, starting in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing or project finance.

  • Expert financial modeling: you build models from scratch and stress-test them.

  • Experience executing or negotiating large transactions.

  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Data center, energy, compute or infrastructure deal experience.

  • Exposure to neoclouds, hyperscalers, GPU OEMs or colocation providers.

  • Time in a corporate or startup finance or BizOps seat after banking or PE.
