Software Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer creates desired functionality to assigned domain, products or services in application development, that impacts future developments. Supports and may lead initiatives including multiple features and applications involving highly integrated design and architecture. Demonstrates knowledge of solutions within multiple domain(s) product(s) or service(s). Responsible for creating desired functionality to assigned content, products or services in ecommerce. Develops, tests and implements software that provides robust technical infrastructure and/or software applications used by business units.

Skills and Requirements

o Develops and may lead applications development and the underlying framework. o Collaborates and may lead application designs. o May lead, implements, tests and delivers new features for multiple platforms. o Coordinates with QA team to initiate testing and ensure testing is completed. o Designs framework and software standards and make suggestions for systems / software improvements. o Evaluate and improves application development process. o Plans upgrades, migrations, optimizations, new implementations and identifies and resolves efficiency issues. o Writes and reviews scripts, templates, interfaces and utility applications to continuously improve functionality. o Develops, tests, troubleshoots and documents new and enhanced systems. o Writes and reviews test plans for new and existing operating environments. o Provides level 3 support for area of expertise. o Troubleshoots and resolves a wide range of systems problems. o May recommend standards and best practices including capacity planning, recovery strategies and security for supported areas. o Oversees work of others to ensure code quality. o Recommends solutions based on established best practices and own judgment. o Sees patterns and uses conceptual thinking to solves problems. o Makes proactive decisions that translate direction into specific actions. o Issues are escalated to Technology Management Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision. o Communicates with Management and may communicate to Technology Leadership, on status issues and decisions to influence outcomes. o Leads meetings with partners to gain alignment and understanding. o Provides guidance to less experienced team members. o Creates and delivers presentations and communication to peers. o Recommends solutions based on established best practices and own judgment. o Sees patterns and uses conceptual thinking to solves problems. o Makes proactive decisions that translate direction into specific actions. o Issues are escalated to Technology Management Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision. o Communicates with Management and may communicate to Technology Leadership, on status issues and decisions to influence outcomes. o Leads meetings with partners to gain alignment and understanding. o Provides guidance to less experienced team members. o Creates and delivers presentations and communication to peers. o All other Duties as assigned. o Application Design o Application Maintenance o Implementation o Programming o System Testing o System Development Life Cycle o Conceptual Thinking o Collaboration o 3+ years of experience in software coding and development. o In-depth knowledge in the content areas of SQL, modeling and DB, database, application servers, catching technologies, agile methodologies, application design and testing o Associates degree or equivalent experience o Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in MIS, computer science or related fields.
