Lead Door & Hardware Installer / Interior Carpenter - Cheyenne, WY

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Door & Hardware Installer / Interior Carpenter to support the construction of a large-scale data center project. This role is ideal for a skilled commercial carpenter with extensive experience installing commercial doors, frames, and hardware , as well as performing high-quality interior carpentry work.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial construction, the ability to read blueprints, and experience leading projects from rough-in through final finish. This position offers steady work, overtime opportunities, and the chance to contribute to a high-profile project alongside a team of skilled trades professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commercial hollow metal and wood doors, frames, and hardware according to project specifications and industry standards.

  • Install and adjust door closers, panic hardware, locksets, hinges, thresholds, weather stripping, and access control preparations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve door and hardware installation issues to ensure proper fit, operation, and code compliance.

  • Interpret blueprints, hardware schedules, shop drawings, and installation details.

  • Perform interior carpentry work including trim, casework, finish carpentry, blocking, and wood framing.

  • Install metal stud framing, backing, and drywall components as required.

  • Build temporary protection systems, barricades, walls, handrails, stairs, and other site safety structures.

  • Perform layout, measurement, cutting, and installation of various construction materials.

  • Assemble and anchor steel racks, supports, and specialty equipment according to project requirements.

  • Assist with site maintenance and material organization to ensure a safe and productive jobsite.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules and quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

  • Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial carpentry experience, with a strong emphasis on doors, frames, and hardware installation .

  • Experience installing:

  • Hollow metal doors and frames

  • Wood doors and frames

  • Locksets and hardware packages

  • Panic devices and exit hardware

  • Door closers

  • Weather stripping and thresholds

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and hardware schedules.

  • Experience with interior build-outs, finish carpentry, framing, and drywall systems.

  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, lasers, and layout equipment.

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and quality standards.

  • Ability to work independently while leading and coordinating with crew members.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience on large commercial projects, data centers, healthcare facilities, schools, or industrial projects.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

  • Experience with access control hardware and electronic door hardware.

  • Experience leading crews and coordinating installations with multiple trades.

  • Knowledge of ADA requirements and commercial door regulations.

Work Environment

This position is based on a large commercial data center construction site. Team members work alongside crews ranging from 5 to 30 personnel and are involved in multiple phases of construction. Typical schedules range from 40-60 hours per week , with frequent overtime opportunities. Candidates must be comfortable working in an active construction environment and provide their own steel-toed work boots.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
