We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control efforts on a utility-scale solar construction project. This role will work closely with field teams, project management, and subcontractors to ensure all electrical installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of electrical installations, including DC/AC wiring systems, combiner boxes, inverters, and switchgear.

• Verify that construction aligns with engineering drawings, project specifications, NEC, and applicable codes/standards.

• Support inspection and test plans (ITPs) and documentation processes.

• Conduct and document pre-installation inspections, in-process inspections, and final acceptance walkdowns.

• Track and report non-conformance issues (NCRs) and support resolution efforts.

• Maintain detailed quality records, reports, and turnover documentation.

• Collaborate with field superintendents, electrical foremen and crews, project managers, and engineers.

• Assist in coordinating with third-party inspectors and client representatives.

• Support commissioning readiness and punch list completion.

Essential Skills

• Experience with electrical inspection and quality assurance.

• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and project specifications.

• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with solar electric projects.

• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Work Environment

The position is onsite at a construction solar farm, specifically in a green field environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
