Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description A Mechanical Design Engineer job in Cincinnati, Ohio is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and five (5) years of relevant experience. Job Duties:Participate in the entire design cycle of mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, development testing and qualificationPerform engineering calculations to validate component and system design (free body diagrams, structural analysis, vibration analysis, flow analysis, and heat transfer analysis)Participate in the life cycle engineering of turbomachinery componentsProvide engineering support during the manufacturing process and supporting fielded hardwareReview manufacturing drawings to ensure form, fit and functionPerform tolerance stacks and analysis in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009Work within a team environment to achieve the desired project goals and ensure the project tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with technical excellenceCreate technical documentation in support of the development and testing of flight hardwareRequired:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similarFive (5) years of experience in the engineering fieldMust be a U.S. citizen Must be eligible and willing to obtain a security clearancePreferred:Experience designing Aerospace or equivalent types of mechanical systemsExperience designing structures, airfoils, or rotating partsExperience designing bearing, seals, drives, sumps, and lube systemsExperience designing test rigs or test standsExperience with ASME Y14.5 2009Working knowledge of design cycle, conception to production, for components or systemsExperience in structural FEA using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar toolsProficient in 3D CAD, utilizing Siemens NXWe provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $80,000 to $100,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
