Summary
You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER (WEAPONS SUSTAINMENT) in the Combat Systems Support Directorate (N9) of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU.
Duties
- You will provide technical guidance to project teams comprised of NSWDG military and civilian staff members and engineers, scientists and other specialists from the In Service Engineering Activities (ISEA) and OGA.
- You will be responsible for maintenance, modifications of weapons and providing the TSME input during testing of development projects for advanced Naval Special Warfare (NSW) weapons and Weapon systems needed to satisfy valid mission requirements.
- You will be responsible for detailed briefings with senior staff representatives on product sustainment issues.
- You will review functional and operational requirements of weapons, weapon systems and associated equipment and prepare necessary sketches, specifications and supporting documentation as required.
- You will provide advice in the acquisition programmatic processes necessary to effectively and efficiency identify, develop and field the next generation of non-standard weapons and ammunition.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Sustaining, maintaining, modifying, and fabricating conventional small arms, crew-served weapons, weapon mounts, and minor-caliber systems in military or Special Operations Forces environments; machining, welding, materials selection, and test and evaluation-to assess developmental systems and resolve complex design or operational issues; and supervising civilian and military technicians and understand defense acquisition, lifecycle planning, and Operations and Maintenance budget execution. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Additional Desired Skills: Proven ability to build immediate credibility with elite tactical operators and technical subject-matter experts, using advanced interpersonal techniques to draw out unstated needs. Demonstrated track record guiding operational units through DOTMLPF-P trade-offs unique to maritime special operations (e.g., evaluating tactics/doctrine updates vs. training pipelines vs. specialized maritime materiel). Maritime Special Operations Domain Knowledge: Substantive familiarity with Naval Special Warfare mission sets, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and specialized maritime equipment (e.g., combat submersibles, tactical combat craft, specialized SOF communications and ordnance). First-hand experience staffing and advocating capability packages through the USSOCOM Requirements & Resources Directorate (J8/J9) and Naval Special Warfare Command headquarters. Demonstrated capability to translate nuanced, qualitative tactical feedback into mathematically defensible, testable Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and Key System Attributes (KSAs). Experience developing multi-criteria qualitative and quantitative scoring models to rank-order capabilities for an Integrated Prioritized Program List (IPPL) under constrained budgets.
