Full job description

Who we are Thrive Nutrition redefines RD consulting by combining clinical expertise with technology, so dietitians spend less time on paperwork and more time on interventions and real conversations with residents. Independent contractor status This is an independent contractor (1099) role. Each factor below describes what that means in practice. Final terms are set out in the contractor agreement for the state where the position is posted, and that agreement governs:

  • Control over the work: Independent contractors decide which visits to accept and when to schedule them, within each community's access hours and the agreed scope of work. Independent contractors choose how to complete assessments, counseling and documentation, within professional standards and clinical guidelines. MealSuite does not set working hours beyond the visit schedule agreed for each community, and does not direct the independent contractor's clinical judgment.

  • Relationship with MealSuite: Independent contractors are independent businesses, not MealSuite employees, agents, partners or joint venturers. Independent contractors may not present themselves as MealSuite employees, and they are not eligible for employee benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, unemployment insurance or workers' compensation.

  • Financial control: Independent contractors are paid per visit or project at the agreed rate and submit an invoice after each visit. Independent contractors provide and pay for their own equipment, vehicles, phone and business expenses [confirm mileage or travel reimbursement], and independent contractors bear their own taxes, including self-employment tax. Independent contractors receive no salary, hourly wage or benefits.

  • Opportunity to serve other clients: Independent contractors may work with other clients, including other senior living and healthcare organizations, and decide how much work to take on. The engagement is not exclusive.
