You will create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, support requirements management and system integration activities, and contribute to certification efforts with global aviation authorities. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers, you will help ensure that aircraft systems meet stringent safety, performance, and regulatory requirements while supporting long-term, cutting-edge aerospace initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain aircraft system designs and modifications, ensuring alignment with program requirements and engineering best practices.

  • Create and update comprehensive engineering documentation, including technical requirements documents, system schematics, supplier requirements documents, system descriptions, interface control documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, certification plans, functional test requirements, equipment qualification test plans and reports, aircraft-level test plans and reports, and design compliance reports.

  • Perform and support requirements management activities, including requirements development, validation, verification, and traceability across the full system lifecycle.

  • Review and evaluate installation drawings, qualification test data, and engineering reports to ensure compliance with technical and program requirements.

  • Analyze ground and flight test data to verify system performance, functionality, and compliance with design and certification criteria.

  • Support engineering change management through technical research, concept development, trade studies, design reviews, impact assessments, and implementation planning.

  • Participate in internal and external design reviews, technical reviews, and program governance activities, providing clear and well-supported engineering input.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical requirements, schedules, and deliverables are clearly defined and successfully met.

  • Support certification efforts and demonstrate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including FAA, Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful system integration, resolving technical issues and supporting overall program execution.

  • Contribute to systems integration, verification and validation, and airworthiness certification activities as needed for aircraft systems and avionics.

  • Apply systems thinking and requirements management expertise to ensure robust, traceable, and verifiable system designs.

  • Manage multiple priorities effectively, work independently when required, and consistently meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience with civil aircraft and systems development processes, including ARP4754A.

  • Working knowledge of FAA, TCCA, and EASA Part 25 certification requirements.

  • Knowledge of aircraft system safety assessment and development processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with engineering teams, leadership, suppliers, and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet project deadlines.

  • Experience with system integration, system schematics, certification plans, aircraft systems, avionics systems, and interface control documents (ICDs).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex aerospace systems.

  • Systems thinking and requirements management expertise, including traceability and verification.

  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality in all engineering deliverables.

  • Effective project planning and organizational skills suited to a structured engineering environment.

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated aerospace environment.
