The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, sound professional judgment, and the leadership ability to promote accountability, consistency, and disciplined processes across the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day shared services accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash application, fixed assets, and general ledger functions.

  • Manage the month-end close process, including close timelines, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and accruals, while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.

  • Evaluate financial performance against prior periods and budget, identifying key variances, trends, and business drivers for leadership.

  • Collaborate with FP& A on monthly financial reporting, rolling forecasts, and the annual budgeting and planning process.

  • Partner with operational teams, including rental coordinators and project managers, to ensure event-related accounting activity is complete, accurate, and recorded on time.

  • Develop and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast to support liquidity planning and informed financial decision-making.

  • Enhance internal controls and establish consistent accounting procedures across shared services to improve compliance and operational effectiveness.

  • Review monthly revenue recognition and cost of goods sold entries to ensure reported results align with supporting job and tracker information.

  • Oversee lease accounting under ASC 842, administer the related accounting system, and assist with annual commercial insurance renewals and audit requests as needed.

  • Manage, coach, and develop accounting staff through ongoing feedback, performance discussions, and clear alignment of individual responsibilities with broader business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.

  • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience within a large-scale or complex corporate environment.

  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting within a controllership or corporate accounting function.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead accounting teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate results within strict deadlines.

  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a high standard of integrity.

  • Experience in equipment rental or a similar operationally driven industry is preferred.

  • Prior exposure to private equity environments and accounting certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
