Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Float/Flex Team, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery while presenting a positive attitude and being reliable,

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

  • Serves as a Charge Nurse and ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven and patient focused manner OR functions as an RN Resource Nurse for the facility.

  • Serves on teams and leads teams as a part of daily practice.

  • Serves as a role model for the unit in incorporating national and organizational goals to improve quality, patient safety and satisfaction.

  • Models effective and compassionate communication skills and is able to articulate and translate the patient’s condition to physicians and other colleagues; effectively utilizes AIDET and SBAR communication methods.

  • If applicable, participates in at least one (1) or more specialty role that is not required of all registered nurses on the unit.Supports continuous learning on the unit by sharing research material from professional journals and/or organizations.

  • Identifies opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement.Applies evidence-based practice as a regular aspect of professional practice.

Job Requirements Required

  • Associate Of Nursing, upon hire and

  • 1-3 years Two (2) years of RN experience, upon hire

  • Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire and

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke’s Health. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the hospital is the home of the Texas Heart® Institute, a cardiovascular research and education institution founded in 1962 by Denton A. Cooley, MD. Baylor St. Luke’s also has three community emergency centers offering adult and pediatric care for the Greater Houston area.

Pay Range

$57.00 - $75.00 /hour
