Description

Job Purpose:The purpose of the Nursing Supervisor job is to coordinate the activities of the resident care units. The Nursing Supervisor assists the clinical coordinator in departmental staffing on a daily basis, maintains approved standards of resident care within the Department of Nursing taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs, and the investigation, and resolution, of complaints. The Nursing Supervisor has responsibility for the operation of the entire Nursing Home in the absence of Administration with the support of the designated Director of Nursing on call.

Education: Graduation from an accredited Nursing program.

Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

License/Certification/Registration: Possess a current New York State license for Registered Nurse. American Heart Association Basis Life Support (BLS)

Experience: Two (2) years of Medical/Surgical experience or equivalent or two (2) years of Long-term Care nursing experience.

Preferred: Two (2) years Nursing Management experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility,
