Join Our Team as an Animal Care Technician!

Do you have a passion for animals and a desire to make a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Technician to join our team and help provide exceptional care for animals in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). Key Responsibilities: As an Animal Care Technician, your role will involve a variety of duties that directly impact the health and well-being of the animals in your care. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Compassionate Animal Care: Provide love, care, and attention to all animals, ensuring they are treated with the respect they deserve.

• Feeding and Care: Prepare and serve meals, conduct feeding trials, and ensure animals always have access to fresh water.

• Sanitation & Safety: Keep animal enclosures clean and odor-free, while maintaining the highest safety standards.

• Animal Enrichment: Help socialize, exercise, and provide olfactory/natural enrichment for dogs and cats.

• Health Monitoring: Observe and report animal behaviors, health conditions, and report any concerns to the appropriate team members.

• Daily Documentation & Reports: Accurately record animal information, complete necessary visual management charts, and contribute to daily huddles.

• Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with animal introductions, manage supplies, and help with the acquisition of new animals as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 6 months of animal care experience—can include professional, volunteer, farm, or personal business experience

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and restraining animals safely

• Experience working with large groups of animals is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to safely follow safety protocols and established safety standards

• Passion for working with animals and socializing them in a positive, off-leash environment

• Capability to assess animal health and provide proper care

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks as needed
