Description:

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Employment Type: Part-time (24 hours/week)

Shift: 12 hour night shift

Location: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital - Darby, PA

Position Purpose

Under supervision of the department manager and/upon request of the physician order, the Respiratory Therapist sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease or illness. Also, delivery of medications needed to assist in control of Respiratory ailments.

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will:

  • Demonstrates competence in providing Oxygen Therapy

  • Demonstrates competence in Arterial Blood Gas Sampling

  • Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately (notifies nurse/physician, initiates CPR)

  • Sets up and maintains ventilator functions

  • Demonstrates appropriate use of pulse oximetry device

  • Participates in the education process of patients and families

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS graduate or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program required

  • Current PA License in Respiratory Therapy required, must be registered by the NBRC

  • BLS required
