Full job description

Slip Robotics is at the forefront of robotic automation, delivering cutting-edge solutions that transform how businesses move goods. Our autonomous platforms redefine efficiency, reliability, and scalability in logistics. We’re a fast-growing team of innovators passionate about helping customers adopt automation seamlessly and successfully.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be the bridge between our engineering team and the production floor. You'll own engineering change orders (ECOs) from release through full implementation on the robot. That means understanding what's changing, building the work instructions, and making sure the production team can build it right. You'll spend time with engineering learning what's coming down the pipeline, and time on the floor seeing how builds are actually flowing. Then you'll bring what you learn back to engineering so we keep getting better. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for someone who's comfortable reading a drawing in the morning and walking the line in the afternoon. Robotics experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own engineering change orders end-to-end and guide each change from engineering release into production and onto the robot.
  • Work with the engineering team to understand upcoming design changes and new equipment, and assess how they'll affect production.
  • Create clear work instructions for new designs, components, and equipment, and train production associates on updated build processes.
  • Interpret design drawings and CAD models to define assembly steps, operating flows, and equipment layouts. Contribute design work where needed.
  • Spend time on the production floor watching build flow, finding bottlenecks, and gathering feedback from the production team.
  • Bring production insights back to engineering with concrete suggestions to improve manufacturability, reduce build time, and show how new equipment will save time.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) as designs move from prototype to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in an assembly manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing or implementing engineering change orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Experience writing work instructions and training production teams.
  • Strong communicator who can translate engineering intent into floor-ready processes, and production feedback into engineering action.

Nice to Have:

  • SolidWorks or other CAD design experience.
  • Experience launching new products into production.
  • Familiarity with machine shop and metal fabrication processes.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Startup or fast-paced, ambiguous environment experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity in an early-stage robotics company
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision
  • Permissive time off policy
  • A small team where your work has direct, visible impact on shipped products
