POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing primary health care to center patients within the structure of the family practice model; in addition, serves on committees, discharges administrative responsibilities, attends departmental meetings; participates in night and weekend on-call coverage rotation. Will assume teaching responsibilities as assigned; provide professional supervision of Provider personnel, including professional interaction with provider support personnel.

Responsible for teaching residents how to care for patients, providing an important bridge allowing residents to grow and become practice-ready while ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Demonstrating compassion and commitment to excellence in teaching and patient care, professionalism, and dedication to life-long learning. Employing a scholarly approach to patient care, faculty members, through the graduate medical education system, improve the health of the individual and the population.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited medical school. Current New York State license is required. Must also have current BLS and infection control certifications. Must have a current DEA Registration. Must have a current certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ambulatory – 95%. Sedentary- 5%. Subject to stress and Fatigue. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination when working with patients and equipment. Subject to repeated bending, squatting and stooping. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
