Full job description

PACIV , a global leader in industrial automation solutions servicing the Life Sciences sector, is seeking a Design Interface Manager to coordinate engineering design and construction activities for pharmaceutical capital projects. This role ensures design deliverables are issued on time, construction teams receive the information they need to execute work, and field feedback is effectively incorporated into the design process.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Manage the interface between design and construction teams across multiple project packages.

  • Coordinate design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, IFC packages, RFIs, and design changes.

  • Monitor design schedules and escalate issues that may impact construction activities.

  • Lead design coordination meetings and ensure timely resolution of RFIs, field changes, and vendor information.

  • Coordinate constructability reviews and support value engineering efforts.

  • Manage drawing revisions, IFC releases, redlines, and as-built documentation.

  • Partner with BIM and document control teams to support design coordination and construction execution.

  • Coordinate design inputs from equipment vendors and ensure integration into the overall project design.

  • Track design changes and evaluate impacts on project scope, cost, and schedule.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Process), Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 12+ years of experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industry capital projects.

  • Experience working in both engineering design and construction environments.

  • Proven experience managing design deliverables on large capital projects.

  • Working knowledge of GMP facility design, cleanroom requirements, and process equipment integration.

  • Experience with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) and document management systems such as Aconex or BIM 360.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • English required; Spanish preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience serving as an Owner's Representative on pharmaceutical capital projects.

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering, construction, and vendor teams.

  • Strong understanding of design management, constructability, and project controls.
