Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Med Support provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community. This position is responsible for a ssisting with medical appointments, stocking medical supplies, and assistance in keeping all medical documentation files up to date, as well as administering medications as prescribed by physician.
Ten people live at this residence, which is located in a quiet setting in Woodstock. There are varying levels of support needed at this house. Ideally, the DSP at Woodstock House should exhibit patience and be comfortable with using various types of communication methods, including verbal, different types of body language, and sign language which would be a plus.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 20.51 to $ 22.57 per hour
