Director of Facilities

Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Facilities to oversee day-to-day operations within a manufacturing facility environment in Burlington, NJ. This role focuses on non-production facility services, including managing janitorial operations and coordinating subcontractors such as landscaping, security, and specialty vendors. The Director of Facilities will oversee purchase orders, ensure the facility is operating efficiently, and support maintenance needs through a mix of hands-on troubleshooting and vendor management.

This position works closely with onsite leadership, including the plant manager, and operates within a unionized environment. The role is fully on-site, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend support required for emergency situations.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of leadership experience in facilities, manufacturing, or related environments

• Experience supporting operations within a manufacturing facility (non-production scope)

• Experience managing subcontractors and vendors (janitorial, landscaping, security, etc.)

• Ability to manage and track purchase orders

• Hands-on maintenance experience within facility operations (ability to perform light hands-on maintenance and escalate larger issues)

• Strong organizational skills

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain certification) - Experience working within a unionized plant environment

• Familiarity with vendor networks (e.g., pre-approved service providers)
