Job Description:

Under supervision, the Communication Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing internal and external communication strategies that support the Georgia Access For Business (GAFB) goals, enhance the public’s image, and ensure clear and consistent messaging.

Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories, newsletters, and other communication materials upon review/approval of the agency’s Director of Communications & Legislative Affairs’ approval.

Provide website and social media content to ensure messaging is current, consistent, and aligned with organizational branding.

Assist in creating and implementing communication plans for programs, initiatives, and events.

Draft, edit, and proofread content for print and digital platforms, including articles, reports, and presentations.

Support internal communications to ensure employees are informed and engaged in organizational priorities.

Collaborate with departmental staff to ensure cohesive and compelling messages across all campaigns and outreach.

Review and enhance operational and technical communications to agents, employers, and other stakeholders.

Coordinate with management to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all communication channels.

Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and key stakeholders.

Assist with crisis communication and reputation management when necessary.

Support event planning and outreach activities to promote organizational visibility.

Ensure all communication materials adhere to branding, tone, and accessibility standards.

Assist in creating and implementing communication plans for programs, initiatives, and events.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of communications or job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 1 (GSP040).
