Full job description

GV BOCES is seeking a Special Education Teacher that will provide instruction to students in a blended 7th and 8th grade classroom within a 6:1:1 Intensive Therapeutic Program. The ideal candidate will deliver differentiated, standards-aligned instruction; develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); monitor student progress; and use trauma-informed, therapeutic, and restorative practices to promote student success. Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) is preferred or a commitment to obtaining the credential in a timely way is a must.

The candidate will provide highly structured classroom support for students with significant behavioral, social-emotional, academic and mental health needs. The teacher will collaborate closely with classroom support staff, related service providers, clinicians, families, and administrators to maintain a safe, supportive, and predictable learning environment. Responsibilities also may include implementing behavior-support plans, participating in team and CSE meetings, maintaining required documentation, and helping students develop the academic, coping, communication, and self-regulation skills needed to achieve their individual goals.

Start Date:

  • Fall 2026-Summer hours may be required

Salary:

  • $50,000-$65,000—Negotiable based on experience
