Opportunity Description
illuminAid is seeking a motivated volunteer intern to support our marketing, communications, program, and knowledge management activities. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit communications, international development, program support, digital marketing, or organizational operations.
The volunteer intern will assist with a mix of creative, administrative, research, and outreach tasks. Projects may include supporting newsletters and blog posts, creating social media content, helping prepare materials for international programs, maintaining records in Salesforce, and organizing internal resources.
Responsibilities May Include
Marketing and Communications
- Support newsletter and blog post development
- Help manage subscriber lists and content planning
- Create social media posts, flyers, event materials, and other digital content
- Draft professional copy for email outreach to partners, clients, and supporters
- Use tools such as Canva, Constant Contact, Asana, and similar platforms
Program Support
- Assist with preparations for Video Education Workshop trips and equipment shipments
- Support partner outreach, including drafting follow-up emails and helping with outreach campaigns
- Maintain accurate records in illuminAid’s CRM database, Salesforce
- Conduct research and synthesize information related to program activities
Knowledge Management and Organizational Support
- Help update illuminAid’s internal wiki, policies, and procedures
- Support organization of Google Drive and other internal systems
- Assist with other program, marketing, and administrative assignments as needed
Ideal Volunteer Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills
- Interest in nonprofit work, international development, communications, or social impact
- Comfortable using or learning digital tools such as Canva, Constant Contact, Asana, Google Drive, and Salesforce
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and be resourceful once projects are assigned
- Willingness to learn and support a small, mission-driven nonprofit team
