Full job description

Job Title: Community Living Instructor / Caregiver

Location: Napa (Private Home)

Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (someone to fill shifts between these days and time)

Pay Rate: $16.90 per hour

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and patient caregiver to work with a blind man who lives in his own apartment. The Client can do many tasks on his own. Your main job is to guide and help him with daily living tasks to keep him safe, healthy, and happy.

You will also work closely with his legal conservator. The conservator manages the clients care, schedule, and meals. The ideal worker must follow specific rules and routines without question. You must also maintain a professional, calm attitude at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Routines: Remind and prompt the client to take his showers and take his medicines.

  • Meal Prep & Diet: Prepare meals strictly following the diet plan provided by the conservator.

  • Home Care: Keep the one-bedroom apartment clean, neat, and organized.

  • Community Outings: Take the client on walks every day for exercise and fresh air.

  • Health Tracking: Help the client maintain good personal habits, including careful, daily tooth brushing.

Job Requirements

  • Certification: Must be CPR and First Aid certified.

  • Background Check: Must pass a mandatory fingerprint background check.

  • Follow Directions Strictly: You must follow all schedule and diet rules set by the conservator. You must accept instructions without questioning the reasons behind them.

  • High Professionalism: You must handle critical feedback calmly. You must keep a positive attitude

  • Patient Communication: You must be skilled at gently encouraging clients when they do not feel like doing a required task.

  • Clear Boundaries: You must maintain a strict, professional boundary between your duties and the family's choices.
