Utility Person

Stanton, KY

General Shale Brick, a leading brand of General Shale, Inc., is seeking a Utility Person to join our manufacturing facility in Stanton, Kentucky. This hands-on role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to safety and teamwork.

Position Overview:

The Utility Person is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe plant environment while supporting production and maintenance teams. This role includes performing housekeeping tasks, assisting with equipment upkeep, and supporting daily plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all plant departments, including Grinding and general production areas

  • Remove scrap from belts, empty bins, and clean dust collectors in the Making Department

  • Assist kiln car operators with repair and rebuild tasks as needed

  • Support snow and ice removal at plant entrances and exits

  • Actively assist other crew members and work collaboratively with operators

  • Report maintenance needs to Production Supervisor or Lead Hand

  • Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including cleaning and washing

  • Follow all safety protocols and work efficiently according to company policies

  • Contribute to achieving the company goal of Zero Harm Today

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Prior brick manufacturing or industrial experience preferred

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment
