Summary:
Reporting to the Area Manager, this position is responsible for monitoring and operating equipment to ensure a safe work environment for the customer, contractors, and all on location. The employee in the operator position has moved beyond trainee and demonstrates an increased ability to work independently and use good judgment and discretion with less supervision than a trainee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak’sprocedures/protocols,goalsandobjectives

Successful and satisfactory completion of operator qualification tests
-
Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams and secure machinery
-
Cleans and checks units, tools and equipment and performs routine maintenance
-
Review andmaintainhistorical data
-
Check plants differential pressures, temperatures, filters, chemicals,and engines to ensure they are running properly
-
Optimizeplant output by setting up,operating,and troubleshooting a variety of machines and equipmentin accordance withestablished procedures and guidelines
-
Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications
-
Record andtransmitdata of job logson a daily basisfrom the field to theoffice of operating conditions of plants and equipment

Communicate withtheofficein order tocontrol inventory restocking and parts usage

Operates with minimal supervision

Perform other duties and responsibilities asrequired
Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, contractors,and employees

Ability to work independently, while actively seeking out ways toassistthe team

Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handlework-relatedstress isrequired

Friendly, respectful, and customerservice-oriented

Proficient MS Office skills; Outlook, Excel, Word

Ability to work a flexible schedule to include holidays and weekends
Education and/or Experience:

2+ years ofamine operations and/ormaintenance or related industry experiencerequired

5+ years ofamine operations and/ormaintenance or related industry experience preferred

Must passanoperator qualification test

High school diploma or GEDrequired
-
Formal vocational training is preferred
Physical Demands:

Requires operation of heavy equipment

Requires employee to stand for up to 75% of the time

Requires moving andmaintainingself indifferent positions—stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl toaccomplishtasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

The employee mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision,distance vision,peripheral vision,depth perception,andthe ability to adjust focus
