The Nurse Manager oversees the nursing program and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care across the organization in addition to providing direct care duties in assigned program. The Nurse Manager may supervise paraprofessional medical, administrative, or nursing staff. The Nurse Manager bridges the gap between direct nursing care and administration.

Starting Rate: $35.00 - $41.68 hourly dependent on years of experience

Sign - On Bonus: $7,500

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide consultation and operational support toprogram operations and clinical leadership on the day-to-day expectationof the nursing department.

  • Provides mentorship to professional nurses in theorganization and supervises any additional assigned staff.

  • Assures medication accuracy with effective ongoingmonitoring for ordering, labeling, packaging, distributing and checkingthat medications ordered by the physician are administered.

  • Ensures nursing documentation is being enteredfollowing standards of care.

  • Develop and conduct medical/health trainings asassigned to staff.

  • Provide ongoing supervision and yearly performancereviews of assigned staff.

  • Coordinates closely with healthcare and alliedprofessionals and departments.

  • Manages any matrix schedules across departmentsincluding on-call in coloration with leadership.

  • Take oversite and ownership of nursing and relatedmedical supplies.

  • Coordinate closely with health and alliedprofessionals and departments.

  • Cares for residents/clients non-assigned units bycovering in the absence of unit staff nurses.

  • Reviews, revises, and implements nursing policies andprocedures in collaboration with clinical leadership of assigned programs.

  • Assures consistent provision of services by monitoringhealth care in assigned programs and communicating with program staff.

  • Assures current and accurate medical records bymaintaining an accurate computer database and consistently chartingsignificant health related interactions.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree from anaccredited school of nursing preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Current Maine Registered Nurse License.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification.

  • CRMA Training Certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of clinical nursing experience.

  • Experience in pediatric/psychiatric nursing orequivalent.
