Description
General Summary
Performs maintenance, repair and installation of both rigid and flexible pavements, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, storm water drainage systems and chain link fences. Performs all other duties, as assigned, to satisfy the operational requirements of the contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Constructs, and repairs roads, streets, curbs, surface mats, membranes and other improved areas using paving and surfacing procedures.

Inspects pavements for surface, base and sub-base damage or defects.

Inspects and repairs storm water drainage systems and chain link fences.

Determines material and equipment requirements.
-
Operates construction equipment to finish grade level, slope, and compact construction materials.

Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisors
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

Class B Florida Driver’s license with Air brake Endorsement

Flight Line Driving Permit (to be obtained upon hiring

National Agency Check Clearance

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Demonstrated ability to competently perform operational responsibilities of position

Able to read, write, speak and understand English

Team Player – ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others

Ability to perform work safely under hazardous conditions

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must have high school diploma or GED
Work Environment

Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors.

Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, inclement weather conditions, and other conditions determined by the nature of the job.

Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft surfaces, pavement structures and surfaces at variable heights.
