Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER T32, PDD2156000 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located at the 162D, in Tucson Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for the Security Forces Squadron and tenant personnel. Control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons. To enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation. To oversee the work activities of Drill Status Guardsmen (DSG) assigned to the Security Forces Combat Arms function. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Qualifications

Military Grades: SSgt/E-5 to MSgt/E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC 3P051 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Qualifying general experience includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): 1. Knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures, and tactics to support installation physical security. 2. Knowledge of firearms and tactics for employing them in emergency situations. 3. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. 4. Knowledge of applicable Air Force, Department of Defense law enforcement, and security rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures, including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security. 5. Knowledge of police officer procedures and operating methods to independently perform the full range of Security Forces activities, to include protection level resources, installation entry controls, armed responses and dispatch duties.
