Mechanical Engineer I

Position Overview
As an engineer, you will be a part of the System Engineering team where you work closely with Sr engineers and subcontractors to design and fabricate hardware components & control units and install & commission new equipment. You will also be working with the product development team to provide solutions to their challenges. This position will be responsible for maintaining the testing equipment to ensure it is operating according to either manufacturer’s specifications or according to required standardized testing requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities for Mechanical Engineer I

Design, fabricate, assemble mechanical and control components that enable us to develop novel products.

Develop and execute testing protocols, maintain organized experimental records, and analyze results.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams within and outside QC to brainstorm improvements to our technology (hardware, software, and control system).

Stay updated with the latest advancements in synthesizing equipment for cementitious materials manufacturing

Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's or greater degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
-
2+ years of hands-on experience in an academic or industrial setting.

Experience with automation and controls (PLC, Arduino, Instrumentation, Industrial Controls)
-
Experience with fabrication and CAD design (3D Printing, CNC, Prototyping)
-
Experience with fluid and gas management (Piping/Valves/Instrumentation)
-
Experience with thermodynamics / heat transfer/ fluid dynamics is highly preferred
-
Ability to work full-time and in-person onsite.

A great team-focused attitude, and a willingness to teach and learn from others.

The job is performed in a hands-on work environment. The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift 25 pounds unassisted or more than 25 pounds assisted.
