Full job description

Boiler Operator / D&E Operator

Location: Atwater, MN

Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Shift

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: $36-$39/hr

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Boiler Operator / D&E Operator to join their operations team at a modern industrial processing facility. This position is responsible for safely operating boiler and plant equipment while supporting efficient production and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in an industrial environment and being part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor boilers, including blowdowns, hourly inspections, chemical adjustments, and routine maintenance.

Operate and monitor gas turbine equipment to maximize efficiency.

Perform water testing on boiler systems, condensate, RO systems, and deaerator tanks while maintaining accurate records.

Operate plant process equipment including evaporators, centrifuges, conveyors, dryers, and grain handling systems.

Collect samples and perform laboratory testing using a variety of analytical equipment.

Monitor production quality and respond appropriately to testing results.

Assist with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs.

Maintain accurate operating logs and documentation.

Follow all safety, environmental, and operating procedures.

Assist with general plant housekeeping and cleanliness.

Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and quality personnel.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Minnesota 2nd Class B Boiler License or higher required.

Industrial or ethanol plant experience is preferred but not required.

Valid driver’s license.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Basic computer skills or the ability to learn plant operating systems.

Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.

Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working around industrial equipment.

Comfortable working at heights, including stairs and ladders up to 150 feet.

Ability to work in confined spaces.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
