Correction Officer*
Washington County is currently seeking applications for Correction Officers An employee in this class is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the County Jail on an assigned shift. Work involves the maintenance of security and the enforcement of all laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the facility. Work includes the supervision of inmates during admission, various release activities within the facility, detention and release. Work is performed under the general supervision of a superior officer and is reviewed through conferences, daily reports and records; however, an employee is expected to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of assigned duties. Work may involve a substantial element of personal danger. The incumbent does related work as required.
