Company Overview

CME Associates, Inc. (CME) is an engineering technology firm providing comprehensive Construction Materials Evaluation and Technical Support Services. Our experts specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials evaluation, special inspections, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.

Summary

Responsible for inspecting and documenting welds to verify compliance with all contract specifications. Demonstrates a strong attention to detail by accurately interpreting construction plans, documenting findings, preparing reports, and maintaining effective communication with clients. This is a full-time position located in the Syracuse, NY area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal and external inspections to verify that weldments and bolted connections meet the acceptance criteria outlined in applicable codes, standards, and contract documents

  • Interpret and apply regulations, codes, and industry standards to support daily testing and inspection activities

  • Accurately compile, document, and submit daily inspection reports in a timely manner

  • Perform additional construction materials testing and inspection tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Must possess Certified Welding Inspector Certification through the American Welding Society (AWS CWI)

  • Knowledge of industry standards including AWS and ASTM required

  • Working knowledge of NDT methodologies, a plus

  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Compensation: $25 - 34/hour
