About the role

Successful execution of quality engineering tasks requiring the application and interpretation of standard and advanced principles, techniques and procedures in a professional, productive and creative manner. Should demonstrate the ability to successfully complete tasks on schedule and within budget. Should demonstrate working knowledge of quality engineering techniques, processes and products. Performs work that requires knowledge and experience in a field of quality engineering which may include a variety of complex technical problems, innovation, and coordination requirements to complete assignments.

Compensation: $84,000-$110,000

Annual Broad Based Bonus: 15%

What you will be doing

  • Provide first piece inspections reports and/or initial sample submissions for all new products and per any specific customer requirements.

  • Assists in enforcing the Corporate Quality Assurance policies and procedures.

  • Assist in processing complaints including problem solving, corrective actions and preventative actions to ensure customer has quick response with immediate corrective action.

  • Interface with manufacturing and engineering to effectively resolve internal and/or external quality problems in corrective, preventative, or continuous improvement manner.

  • Create, issue and implement control plans on an on-going bases, as required, for new products.

  • Successfully complete and submit P PAP’s to our customers. Work with our supplier base to improve and approve their P PAP’s to Southco, Inc.

  • Participate in the new APQP process for new product introductions.

  • Interface with design engineering, product management, and manufacturing engineers to launch new products.

About you

  • BS Engineering or equivalent degree

  • Knowledge of Southco product line preferred

  • 3 or more years of relevant technical experience (Co-op experience is acceptable)

  • Computer compentency/expertise, ability to learn Southco Business and Quality Sytstems

  • Six Sigma experience preferred

  • ASQ CQE certification preferred

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Safety and quality conscious

  • Ability to maintain good visual capabilities including 20/40 vision, corrected, depth perception, and color discrimination (continuous)
