Full job description
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced I nternal M edicine department.
Schedule: 4 days a week rotating Mondays and Fridays
As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).

Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg,etc.).

Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia

Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.

Set up andassistwith endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean andmaintainequipment followingprocedure.

Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.

Additionaljob duties as assigned.
