Supervising Performance Analyst

About Graham

Graham provides life-changing tools and resources for children, young adults and families who face some of the most difficult obstacles caused by poverty, racial injustice, and lack of access to educational opportunities, living wage employment, quality healthcare, and affordable housing. We collaborate with communities and strong partners to create and implement innovative strategies so everyone can lead healthy, joyful, and successful lives.

The Program Performance and Planning (PPP) team advances a culture of learning, strategic program development, and data-driven performance management in pursuit of that mission and vision. PPP partners with program leaders to select and develop new interventions, analyze and interpret data, assess program effectiveness, apply learning from data analysis and feedback into program improvement efforts and develop program resources to strengthen operations and service delivery.

About the Position: PPP seeks a Supervising Performance Analyst to promote excellence through performance measurement, analysis, documentation reviews, report production, collecting participant feedback, synthesizing and reporting information to guide management decisions, and being a thought partner to program management on operational and programmatic improvement.

This position will support our Health and Wellness and Foster Care teams, with approximately 50% of their time supporting leadership in program improvement in our Mental Health Clinic, Health Home Care Management team, and 29i Care Coordination team from children in foster care. 30% of this person’s time will be spent doing data analysis and reporting for the foster care team, and 20% on thought partnership and collaboration with foster care leadership.

This position will support program leadership and staff to make decisions to improve programmatic and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical knowledge, data analysis skills, and a strong understanding of how non-profit management decision making can be supported by timely and reliable data. Responsibilities: • Provide support to program leadership through strategic thinking, planning and data analysis to support programmatic decisions. • Partner with program leaders in regular performance meetings to support best practices and helping program leaders gain insights and determine areas that require additional planning. • Supervise five part-time Case Record Reviewers, including co-creating performance goals, coaching to support performance progress and success, and ensuring high quality and collaborative work. • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure that the findings of the case record reviews are applied to planning for improvement in case practice. • Collaborate with other members of the PPP and IT teams to gather and produce necessary reports and dashboards to drive insight and planning across programs. • Compile data, produce regular outcomes and performance measurement reports, and summarize and interpret information to guide programmatic decision-making and strengthen program performance. • Conduct ad-hoc analyses in partnership with program leadership to help managers better understand performance concerns and successes. • Support the incident review process, high risk case review, investigatory, and related compliance and safety processes to ensure appropriate oversight and accountability of services. • Effectively communicate findings, present data in meetings, facilitate discussions and workgroups, and coach program supervisors on understanding and interpreting data. • Partner with program management to identify and develop additional resources and materials to support the strengthening of programmatic operations and service delivery. • Supporting program leadership and staff through ad hoc additional support that falls under the auspices of PPP functions. • Other related tasks as assigned.

Competencies and Strengths: In keeping with the Graham Pillars of Respect, Grow, Thrive, and Lead and the requirements of the position, the following competencies and strengths are important attributes for being successful in this role: • Detailed & Organized: Extremely detail-oriented, with excellent written and oral skills. • Supportive and Learning Oriented Coach: Has an aptitude for coaching others and an orientation toward using data and information to support a culture of learning and improvement • Curious: Interested in understanding why things are the way they are and persistent about figuring things out. • Engaged: Communicates openly, honestly and clearly and is willing to have healthy disagreement, with the goal of building a more connected community. • Solution-focused and Dependable: Works with others to solve problems, acknowledges mistakes and successes, and follows through on commitments. • Growth-oriented: Openness to feedback and self-reflection towards self-improvement. • Respectful: Has strong personal integrity and wants to participate in a culture that celebrates vibrant and diverse spiritual and ideological perspectives, racial, ethnic, and gender identities, and sexual orientations. • Bold and Passionate: Enjoys empowering staff to help them achieve safety, family, education, and opportunity for the kids and families we serve.

Position Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required and minimum 3 years of relevant experience • Master’s degree in non-profit management, social work, public administration, business administration, public policy, or related fields preferred • Experience working closely with program and organizational leadership on process improvement, policy development, strengthening case practice, or other priorities for improving team performance. • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills including an ability to review, analyze, interpret, and succinctly summarize information from diverse sources, including documents, focus groups, and surveys. • Dedication to our mission and a belief that children and families can succeed regardless of their circumstances. • Experience designing and/or conducting surveys, focus groups, and other qualitative data collection methods. • Experience with NYC mental health services, public health, care coordination, child welfare, or related fields a plus. • Willingness to travel throughout NYC, as needed. • Experience supervising is a plus but not required.
