Duties Description Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center (MHFPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists for their secure adult facility located in New Hampton, NY. As a Psychiatrist at MHFPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered, and recovery focused treatments to individuals admitted by court order including:• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and discharge evaluations• Conducting suicide, violence, and AIMS assessments• Engaging in forensic evaluations and completing forensic assessments • Testifying in court regarding the individual’s fitness capacity and medication treatment over objection• Creating treatment plans including medication management• Communicating with correctional facility and the individual’s counsels regarding the individual’s condition

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
