As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for the generation, editing, review, technical accuracy, quality and distribution of technical documentation that supports maintenance and testing operations of a complex industrial R&D testing laboratory.

Due to the technical complexity of the systems we work with, ideal candidates will have some exposure to MK54 or MK48 torpedoes, mechanical or aerospace engineering, or experience running and documenting testing operations or procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with engineers, technicians and subject matter experts to write, edit, test and verify maintenance and test procedures using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and illustrating applications.

  • Communicate with Test Directors to understand the schedule and associated documentation needs. Conduct walkthroughs and process reviews to acquire technical details needed for documentation updates. Hold status meeting to communicate status and request support as needed to support updates.

  • Editing and proofing technical documentation to support change requests and revisions while ensuring all standards are followed.

Qualifications

  • Able to quickly learn, understand, and communicate complex systems and process steps.

  • Able to work independently, manage concurrent tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Ability to extract technical content and details from subject matter experts and your peers to document their test procedures.

Desired:
