Position Overview

Allen Control Systems is seeking a hands-on Shop Technician to support daily shop operations, including retaping threaded holes, performing light fabrication work, building shipping crates, and assisting with general shop tasks. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position will be a contract opportunity.

What You'll Do

• Retape threaded holes to required specifications and tolerances

• Inspect and clean parts prior to rework or assembly

• Build custom shipping crates and packaging for outgoing products

• Operate basic shop tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, drill press, etc.)

• Measure and verify part dimensions using basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.)

• Assist with light fabrication and general shop support tasks

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Follow work instructions, shop procedures, and safety guidelines

• Support shipping and receiving activities as needed

What You'll Need

• Prior experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment preferred

• Basic understanding of mechanical components and threaded fasteners

• Ability to read basic work instructions and use measuring tools

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
