Full job description

About Revel Revel builds software that interfaces directly with complex physical systems — across aerospace, robotics, energy, and advanced manufacturing.

We are building infrastructure where software decisions have real-world consequences. The problems are hard, the systems are complex, and the bar is high.

The Role We're hiring a Product Manager to own the reporting and analytics layer of the Revel platform.

Everything our customers do in Revel produces data — thousands of channels of telemetry, sampled fast, across long-running tests and live operations. The platform already captures all of it. This role owns what customers can do with it: how they review it, make sense of it, and act on what they find.

The area has strong customer pull and no settled definition inside the platform. You'll be deciding what gets built, not maintaining a roadmap someone else wrote.

What You'll Do

  • Own product direction for how customers work with the data their systems produce — from ambiguous problem space to shipped product

  • Work laterally across teams, partnering with engineering stakeholders to align on user experience and persona

  • Use the product the way customers do — work with real test data yourself — so your product judgment comes from firsthand use, not secondhand summary

  • Translate complex, technical workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces

  • Spend real time with users: test engineers, controls engineers, and the people who sign off on results. Understand how they work with data today and what questions their conclusions have to answer

  • Collaborate directly with Head of Product and CEO

Who You Are

  • You've built and shipped technical, data-heavy products and care about the quality of what ships, not just that it shipped

  • You're comfortable working with engineers who operate deep in systems, infrastructure, or highly technical domains

  • You can go from user problem → product concept → shipped experience

  • You don't need fully defined requirements to get started

  • You care about product quality and user experience, not just delivery

Must-Haves

  • 5-10 years of Product Management Experience

  • Experience with big data analytics and reporting products

  • Experience taking user feedback and synthesizing it into deliverables

  • Experience coordinating engineers to execute on a product vision

  • Track record of building internal alignment for engineering/product initiatives

  • Hands-on experience with analytics workflows

  • Engineering degree

Plusses

  • Experience building or working on software for hardware systems

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with complex, interactive software (e.g. CAD, simulation environments)

  • Exposure to systems with non-trivial underlying models or logic

  • Ability to bridge deeply technical backend work with user-facing product

  • Experience working across a wide range of users — from experts to first-time users

  • Frontend or design capability (React, TypeScript, or similar) — able to prototype and iterate independently

  • Familiarity with a data query language (e.g., SQL)

Tools & Technologies

  • Ticketing systems (e.g., Jira)

  • Project planning tools

  • Data query languages (a plus)

Why This Role

  • You'll own the reporting and analytics category end-to-end — not just execute against someone else's specs

  • You'll work on problems that don't have existing playbooks

  • You'll operate close to the core of the system — not at the edges

  • You'll help define an entirely new category of software for complex physical systems
