Position Summary

This person will perform several tasks associated with maintaining plastic injection molding process, equipment related to injection molding machines, servo robots, grinders, trimming equipment, loader systems, facilities support and other. Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Injection molding process knowledge - i.e. pressures, velocity, melt, fill time, ejector bars, etc.

  • Start and stop of injection molding equipment.

  • Install/remove molds, trim dies, grinders, and other auxiliary equipment to make plastic parts.

  • Troubleshoot, correct, repair, and optimize injection molding machines, robots (move/initialize), trim dies and all support equipment for molding operations (thermolators, loader system, grinders, conveyors, etc). The individual will respond to various equipment conditions, analyze the situation for root cause, and apply the appropriate skill to resolve the issue.

  • Operate fork truck to complete tasks such as pulling and setting molds, changing trim dies, etc.

  • Read, record, and monitor instructions, formulas, and processing graphs of machine operational data.

  • Occasionally assist with preventative maintenance on molds and equipment.

General duties:

  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices and standards consistent with all OSHA and Energizer internal safety policies and procedures including lock out tag out (LOTO)

  • Interact and assist colleagues to help them with molding problems.

  • Respectful communication with colleagues and management.

  • Interact with vendors and service technicians occasionally.

  • Maintain housekeeping

  • Support Safety, Quality, and Cost

  • Other duties as required.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Climbing: Ascending and descending ladders, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms

  • Standing: Remaining in an upright position particularly for sustained periods of time

  • Pushing and Pulling: Carts containing supplies and equipment

  • Lifting: Lifting of equipment weighing 60 to 90 pounds

  • Able to tighten bolts to 125 ft. /lbs. of torque using 18” lever ratchet

  • Vision: Must pass tow motor qualification test

  • Dexterity: Must operate hand tools and manipulate machinery using both hands

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • This position could be 12-hour day or night schedule or some other schedule based on business needs.

What we are looking for

  • High school or GED

  • 5 or more years of work experience with plastic injection molding and facilities equipment as described previously.

  • Must be legally authorized to work full time in the US.

  • Tow motor and scissor lift experience is a plus.

  • Basic math to solve problems

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving abilities

  • Communication – oral and written

  • Basic knowledge using computers

  • Be self-directing as this position could be the sole resource for the shift.
