Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Night Shift & Weekend-Only Opportunities

12-Hour Shifts | Night-Shift Differential: Additional $5.00 per Hour

Location: Point Pleasant, PA | Accessible from Bucks County, the Lehigh Valley, and Central New Jersey

Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses who are prepared to care for medically fragile and technology-dependent children and young adults in a pediatric long-term care environment.

This is more than an opportunity to work with children. Our LPNs provide skilled, attentive nursing care to residents with complex medical and developmental needs. The role requires strong clinical observation, thoughtful communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consistency of care.

LPNs with experience caring for medically complex or technology-dependent patients may be especially well prepared for this opportunity.

Night Shift: Earn an Additional $5.00 per Hour

Join our night-shift nursing team and receive an additional $5.00 per hour for eligible night-shift hours.

  • Night shift: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

  • 12-hour shifts

  • Every-other-weekend requirement for regularly scheduled positions

  • Weekend-only scheduling option available

  • Day-shift opportunities may also be available: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do as an LPN

As an LPN at Pediatric Specialty Care, you’ll play an active role in delivering consistent, attentive nursing care to medically complex children and young adults. Working closely with RNs, providers, families, and the interdisciplinary care team, you will:

  • Deliver nursing care based on each resident’s individualized care plan and evolving clinical needs.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders.

  • Monitor residents closely, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team members.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, and other disciplines to coordinate care and support treatment decisions.

  • Contribute to admission evaluations, ongoing assessments, care planning, and resident and family education.

  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, including nursing notes, medication and treatment records, and care-plan updates.

  • Provide clear, thorough change-of-shift reports to support continuity and safety across the nursing team.

  • Practice within the LPN scope, seeking RN guidance or immediate clinical support when a resident’s needs or condition require escalation.

  • Participate in orientation, continuing education, quality-improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of Nurse Technicians.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking for in an LPN

  • Current Pennsylvania LPN license in good standingor an active multistate LPN license with authorization to practice in Pennsylvania

  • Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Pediatric training or nursing experience preferred, but not required

  • Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor under 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors

Structured Pediatric Clinical Training

You’ll be supported from day one. Following General Orientation, every new LPN receives more than three weeks of hands-on clinical training alongside experienced pediatric nurses before working independently on the floor.
