Overview

Located in Port Jefferson, the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital combines advanced clinical expertise with a longstanding commitment to compassionate care. The campus has earned both a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade “A” and a CMS 5-Star Quality Rating and is known for its excellence in Maternal/Child Services, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Bariatric Surgery, and Emergency Care.

St. Charles Campus holds special certification from The Joint Commission for both hip and knee replacement surgery and is also fully accredited as a Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. These accomplishments demonstrate the advanced expertise of our team and its commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details

Our Medical-Surgical RNs:

  • Assess, monitor, administer medication, document progress, and overall management of care for the post-surgical and Medical-Surgical patient populations

  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, Registered Nurses (RNs), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.

  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support, and education.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Medical-Surgical Nursing and caring for a diverse patient population

  • 1+ Years of acute care nursing (RN) experience preferred

  • New graduate RNs are welcome and will be considered!

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required or currently enrolled in a BSN program

  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration required

  • Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required

Salary Range

USD $52,354.97 - USD $64.20 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
