Full job description

We have an opening for a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in our Inpatient Pharmacy.  PRN is to cover all shifts, but current need is for mainly day shift prn.

As the Pharmacy Tech you procure and distribute medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols .

SCHEDULE

  • PRN - As needed to backfill employee time-off, vacations, etc.

  • Will cover All Shifts (Day, Evening, Rotating Weekends), but currently day shift mainly.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Pharmacy Tech Certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (DORA) preferred.

  • Will consider candidates with provisional certification from the State Board of Pharmacy (DORA).

Experience:

  • 2-3 years pharmacy technician, inpatient or outpatient experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff.

  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests. 

  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. 

  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).

SALARY RANGE

  • Base Salary + PRN differential pay. 

  • Evening, Night and Weekend Differentials Available.
