JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Observes company safety rules and complies with safety practices.

  2. Must have successfully completed Department Assistant I Checklist.

  3. Capable of documenting quality checks required by work center.

  4. Assists in safe and efficient operation of printers, metalizers, laminators, cutters, gluers, and all support equipment.

  5. Aids in identifying and resolving process and machine problems.

  6. Participates in make-ready preparation for assigned equipment.

  7. Prepares necessary reports as required to accomplish production goals.

  8. Performs general housekeeping functions in assigned area.

  9. Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5S and other company standards.

  10. Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

  11. Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.

  12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

  13. Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  14. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.

  15. Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.

  • At least 6 months of experience with the same or similar equipment is preferred.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Frequent/strenuous physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.

Frequently exposed to conditions involving noise, fumes, and hazardous chemicals.

Graphic Packaging International is on a 7-day continuous operation. Must be able to work overtime as required.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees

  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.

  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.

  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.

  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
