About Roon We are focused on building the digital home for doctors - a free, physicians-only community to connect, share knowledge, and shape the future of medicine.

Role Description Work with our CTO and engineering lead on building AI for patients, caregivers and doctors. So far, we’ve built a search engine and an AI agent within a deeply empathetic app that “understands” what patients and caregivers are going through. We still think of that as technology in its infancy. You’ll own MLOps and LLMOps, all our data pipelines, and work with doctors and patient advocates to help craft the future of health information on the Internet, powered by humans and AI.

What You’ll Do What we’re looking for: Search, retrieval, and data aggregation experience for AI models. You’re opinionated about embedding models and RAG pipelines. You’re the kind of person that’s compared the results of vector operations across all the different viable dimensionalities of a Matryoshka model (or at least think that’ll be fun). And you’re persnickety about how we should run evals, because that’s something we’re building right now.
Data science skills and experience with machine learning heuristics. You’re comfortable hanging out in a Jupyter Notebook, think K-Means Clustering and Categorization have become easier over time, and know how to think about batching. You’re comfortable manipulating big data, and know how to to structure fine tuning and model training. You’re familiar with the latest developments in ML, can quickly run experiments, and implement the latest papers.
Data pipelines and ETL ability. You’ll help us scale up data pipelines for doctor workflows and patient-facing medical information, using multiple sources of data.
